Discovery Days
Go behind the scenes in real industries and meet people doing jobs you may not know exist.
For young people aged 16–24
If school, college or the usual careers advice has not worked for you, that does not mean you have nothing to offer. Fentro starts with what you already care about.
How it is designed
Fentro is for young people who are NEET, meaning not currently in education, employment or training, and those at risk of becoming disengaged. We know the label does not explain who you are, what happened or what you might become.
Instead of beginning with a job title, we look at the things you voluntarily spend time on: gaming, sport, beauty, cars, music, content, fashion, tech or something else. We then explore the industries, roles and skills connected to that interest.
You will not be promised a job. You will be helped to see more possibilities, build useful evidence and make a next move that fits.
The Fentro pathways
Go behind the scenes in real industries and meet people doing jobs you may not know exist.
Build practical digital marketing and enterprise skills through supported projects, not worksheets for the sake of it.
Take part in a podcast and publication sharing honest stories, challenges, ideas and youth enterprise—in young people’s own words.
Explore work, further learning, enterprise or another specialist route, with joined-up support where another organisation is better placed to help.
Questions young people ask
The pilot is being designed to recognise potential and interest, not only previous grades. Final eligibility will be confirmed before places open.
Fentro is seeking funding so eligible young people can take part without paying programme fees. Travel and access needs are being included in the pilot planning.
Yes. During pre-launch they can register interest, but the young person’s voice and consent will remain central.
