Host a Discovery Day
Create a hands-on look inside your sector and the careers surrounding it.

For employers and industry
Young people cannot aspire to roles they have never seen. Fentro is building practical ways for employers to reveal the people, skills and careers behind their industry.
The opportunity
A traditional office tour can leave a young person knowing little more than when they arrived. A Fentro Discovery Day is intended to make an industry visible: the different roles, the problems people solve, the routes in and the skills employers actually value.
Partners might host an experience, set a real project brief, introduce a range of employees, provide mentoring, sponsor participant access or support progression. The format should be safe, purposeful and genuinely useful to the young person, not a corporate photo opportunity.
Ways to take part
Create a hands-on look inside your sector and the careers surrounding it.
Give learners meaningful work that develops skills and produces credible portfolio evidence.
Sponsor travel, equipment, a sector pathway or a wider element of the first pilot.
Offer practical insight, mentoring, workshops or industry connections that strengthen the pilot.
Why employers matter
Employers regularly report recruitment and skills challenges, while young people face entry-level roles demanding experience they have had no route to gain. Fentro is designed to bring those two sides closer together.
This is not a promise of guaranteed hires. It is a structured way to improve visibility, relevance, work-readiness and mutual understanding.
