Young people are participants
Programmes should be shaped with young people, not simply delivered at them.

About Fentro CIC
Fentro is a Community Interest Company based in Rhondda Cynon Taf, in the heart of the South Wales Valleys, created to help young people uncover the value inside interests that others may have dismissed.
Why Fentro exists
NEET means not in education, employment or training. It describes a current position, not a young person’s identity, intelligence, character or future.
Fentro was created because the same young person described as disengaged in one environment may show focus, creativity, persistence and skill somewhere else. The capability may already exist. The challenge is helping them recognise it, translate it and connect it to a realistic opportunity.
Our model begins with listening, discovery and interest. From there, we build commercial awareness, practical skills, confidence and pathways with employers and existing support organisations.
What matters to us
Programmes should be shaped with young people, not simply delivered at them.
Good intentions are not enough. We will measure, learn, publish and improve.
Fentro should connect and strengthen routes, not pretend one organisation can do everything.
Begin in Rhondda Cynon Taf, listen closely and share evidence that can help communities across Wales.
Leadership
Fentro is led by directors Nicola Martin and Martina. Nicola brings more than twenty years of marketing, strategy, training and commercial experience. Martina brings around thirty years of education, SEND, SEMH and youth experience, including work across challenging educational and custodial settings.
The organisation is being built to combine disciplined business planning with safe, credible youth practice, and to bring in specialist partners where the young person needs more than Fentro should provide.
